Drew James, MBA

Executive Coach

I work with high-stress professionals, leaders, and individuals navigating career and life transitions. My role is to support you as you lead, build, recalibrate, and evolve—while holding responsibility, pressure, identity shifts, and the quieter internal experiences that often go unspoken.

Many of the people I work with are highly capable and deeply responsible. You may be making complex decisions daily, carrying the weight of leadership, or being relied upon to hold things together for others—while feeling the cumulative effects of sustained pressure beneath the surface. Outwardly, things may look functional or even successful. Internally, something may feel strained, misaligned, or ready for change.

This work is personal for me. I spent over 15 years in demanding leadership and professional environments, learning how to navigate systems, solve complex problems, and make high-stakes decisions. Alongside that, I lived much of my life carrying the long-term effects of trauma while continuing to perform at a high level.

When I sought support for myself, I struggled to find spaces that could hold both the depth of my emotional experience and the realities of professional responsibility and complexity. Much of what I encountered felt overly simplified or disconnected from the pressures I was actually navigating. I didn’t need surface-level strategies—I needed depth, nuance, and someone who could think with me in real time.

That experience deeply shapes how I work with others.

My Approach

My work is grounded, trauma-informed, and shaped by both lived experience and professional training. With an MBA and extensive experience in high-pressure, highly regulated environments, I understand the emotional impact of sustained responsibility alongside the practical realities of leadership, organizations, and decision-making.

As a veteran, I also understand how structure, responsibility, and identity can shape the nervous system long after a role has changed—without that role needing to define your entire story.

Whether you’re navigating burnout, a layoff, or a broader recalibration of your work and life, our work begins by slowing down. Together, we create space to think clearly, reflect honestly, and explore what wants to emerge beneath performance and expectation.

I draw from nervous-system-aware practices, trauma-informed coaching, depth-oriented reflection, and integration-informed approaches to support change that is embodied, sustainable, and aligned. Our work is collaborative, paced with care, and rooted in emotional safety.

Who I Work With

I support individuals who are:

  • Navigating sustained pressure, burnout, or high-performance stress

  • Experiencing layoffs, restructuring, or career disruption

  • At turning points—questioning identity, direction, or values

  • Integrating transformative or expanded-state experiences

  • Seeking clarity, steadiness, and a more authentic way of living and leading

What Session With Me Feel Like

Sessions are steady, spacious, and intentional. I offer a grounded, non-judgmental space where performance can soften and reflection can deepen—where both your inner experience and lived reality are welcome.

Many clients describe our work as a place to slow down and think together: to explore complexity, test ideas, and reconnect with internal clarity before taking action. We move at a pace that honors your nervous system and lived experience, allowing insight and integration to unfold naturally.
