Emily Smith, LCSW
If you’re moving through uncertainty, illness, grief, or a season of deep change, you don’t have to do it alone. I offer a space grounded in authenticity and connection- where you’re invited to slow down, feel what’s present, and be met with care.
I believe healing begins when we are allowed to show up as we are, without needing to fix or rush the process.

My Approach
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over eight years of experience supporting individuals and families through anxiety, depression, trauma, illness, grief, and major life transitions. My work integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic, and person-centered approaches, allowing therapy to be both structured and deeply human.
I believe therapy isn’t about fixing what’s broken- it’s about creating space to feel, question, and connect. Together, we explore the balance of both/and: joy and ache, light and shadow, growth and rest- honoring the full complexity of your experience.
Who I Work With
I work with:
Adults navigating anxiety, depression, or trauma
Individuals and families facing medical challenges or chronic illness
Clients moving through grief, loss, or bereavement
People navigating major life transitions or identity shifts
I have particular experience supporting both pediatric and adult clients through medical trauma, hospice, and palliative care, and I’m honored to walk alongside individuals and families during some of life’s most tender and uncertain moments.
What Sessions With Me Feel Like
Sessions with me are compassionate, steady, and reflective. I aim to create a space where you can feel held enough to explore difficult emotions while also staying connected to meaning, values, and inner strength.
My role is to support you in making sense of your experience- not by pushing for answers, but by helping you listen to what matters most and move forward at a pace that feels right.

Beyond the Therapy Room
Outside of my clinical work, I’m a proud dog mom and a medically complex sibling. Having been raised by two parents with disabilities, I bring a deeply personal understanding of healthcare systems, disability, and advocacy.
These experiences shape my passion for equity, accessibility, and inclusion, values that guide both my practice and presence. In my downtime, you’ll often find me collecting vinyl records or exploring new places that spark curiosity and reflection.
