Emily Smith
LCSW
Emily Smith is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes that healing begins in spaces of authenticity and connection. With over eight years of experience, Emily integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic, and Person-Centered approaches to support clients through life’s challenges- including anxiety, depression, trauma, illness, grief, and major life transitions.
Her work is rooted in the belief that therapy is not about fixing what’s broken, but about holding space to feel, question, and connect. Emily helps clients explore their experiences with compassion and courage, emphasizing the balance of both/and- joy and ache, light and shadow, growth and rest.
Emily brings deep expertise in medical trauma, hospice, and palliative care, supporting both pediatric and adult clients as they navigate complex health journeys and bereavement. She has extensive experience helping individuals and families find meaning and strength in times of uncertainty and loss.
As a proud dog mom and medically complex sibling, Emily connects personally to families navigating healthcare and disability systems. Raised by two parents with disabilities, she is passionate about equity, accessibility, and inclusion- values that guide both her practice and presence. Outside the therapy room, you’ll often find her collecting vinyl records or exploring new places that spark curiosity and reflection.
