Sahar Fahimi, LPC Resident
Individual | Adolescent | Family | Couples
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or caught between different roles, expectations, or identities, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I offer a compassionate, culturally attuned space where you can slow down, feel supported, and begin to reconnect with your inner strength.
I believe healing happens when we feel safe enough to be honest- with ourselves and with others.
My Approach
I’m a Resident in Counseling in Virginia with over a decade of experience supporting individuals, adolescents, and families. My approach is grounded in compassion, cultural awareness, and authenticity, with a strong emphasis on creating emotional safety and trust.
I draw from client-centered therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based practices, and trauma-informed care. Together, we work to build emotional regulation, resilience, and meaningful connection- always at a pace that feels supportive and respectful of your lived experience.
Who I Work With
I work with:
Adults navigating anxiety, depression, or life transitions
Adolescents needing support with emotional regulation or identity exploration
Families experiencing conflict, stress, or communication challenges
Individuals healing from trauma or chronic stress
As a first-generation immigrant, I bring a deep understanding of identity, belonging, and the complexities of cultural transition. I’m especially passionate about supporting clients who are balancing multiple worlds — personal values, family expectations, and their evolving sense of self.
What Sessions With Me Feel Like
Sessions with me are warm, grounded, and collaborative. I meet each client with empathy and curiosity, creating space to explore difficult emotions without judgment or pressure.
My goal is to help you feel steady enough to reflect, process, and grow- not just to heal from what has been, but to move toward what’s possible with clarity and confidence.

Beyond the Therapy Room
Outside of my work, I value reflection, connection, and ongoing personal growth. These values shape how I show up as a therapist- present, grounded, and committed to meeting clients where they are.
Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.
