Sahar Fahimi is a Resident in Counseling in Virginia with over 10 years of experience supporting families, adults, and adolescents. She works with clients navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions, creating a safe and compassionate space to explore challenges and build lasting resilience.
Sahar earned her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (2024) and holds additional certifications in Crisis Counseling (Crisis Text Line, 2021) and Trauma-Focused CBT (Medical University of South Carolina, 2024). Her training reflects both depth and breadth, equipping her to work with diverse populations in culturally sensitive and trauma-informed ways.
Using a client-centered approach, along with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other trauma-informed practices, Sahar helps clients develop skills for distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and healthier relationships. She specializes in supporting first- and second-generation immigrants, with a deep understanding of how cultural transition, intergenerational conflict, and identity struggles impact mental health.
