John Gannon, MSW Intern
Individual | Trauma + Life Transitions | KAP | Military Support
If you’ve spent years carrying responsibility, pressure, or experiences that never quite had space to be processed, you may be feeling the weight of it now. I offer a calm, supportive space where we can slow down, explore what you’ve been holding, and begin the work of healing with intention and care. I believe therapy should feel grounded, respectful, and deeply human- especially for those who are used to being the strong one.
My Approach
I’m a Master of Social Work student at Columbia University, currently completing my foundational clinical placement at Conscious Collective. My approach is trauma-informed, compassionate, and shaped by both clinical training and lived experience.
I draw from modalities including trauma-informed care, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, and psychedelic integration, offering support that honors the nervous system, the whole person, and the unique path each client is on. Our work together is collaborative and paced intentionally, with an emphasis on safety, trust, and meaning-making.
Who I Work With
I work with individuals who are:
Navigating trauma or chronic stress
Working in high-pressure or service-oriented careers
Experiencing major life transitions or identity shifts
Seeking deeper self-understanding and emotional resilience
With over two decades of military and federal service, I bring a deep understanding of the cultural and emotional realities faced by military members, veterans, federal employees, and first responders. I’m especially passionate about supporting those who may have learned to minimize their own needs while caring for others.
What Sessions With Me Feel Like
Sessions with me are often described as steady, heart-centered, and grounding. I strive to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are- without pressure to perform, explain, or hold it all together.
I approach therapy with curiosity, humility, and respect, believing that healing unfolds most naturally when clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to explore their inner experience at their own pace.
Areas of Focus

Psychedelic integration
Emotional resilience & self-leadership
Beyond the Therapy Room
Outside of my clinical work, I find grounding through time with my family, connection with nature, nonprofit engagement, and mindfulness-based practices. These experiences continue to shape my own growth and reinforce my belief that healing is an ongoing, deeply personal journey- one rooted in presence, connection, and intention.
Strength through compassion.
